Collins acquired the Greenwich Apartments portfolio in 1993, comprising a three-building, 130-unit community known as Greenwich Close and a stand-alone, 53-unit Art Deco building called Winthrop House, both located in central Greenwich. Winthrop House sits immediately adjacent to Greenwich Avenue, the town’s premier shopping and retail district.

In partnership with Competrol Real Estate Ltd. and HSBC, Collins completed a full renovation of Greenwich Close, selling the property in 1998 at an above-market return. Winthrop House underwent a comprehensive upgrade of its building systems and interiors, followed by a successful condominium conversion, with the final unit sold in 1999.
